Ardmore Guest farm is situated in the enchanting Champagne valley of the central Drakensberg, just below the majestic the three highest peaks in South Africa. Mafadi (highest at 3450m); Injisuthi Dome (second highest at 3410m) and the majestic Champagne Castle (third highest at 3377m). Our guests can choose between our two types of en- suite fireplace accommodation, all with fireplaces and tea/coffee making facilities (firewood provided at no cost). Mountain view cottages (2 or 3 bedrooms) have en suite bedrooms and a lounge with a log fireplace and fridge. The main bedroom has a 4 poster Queen bed, the en-suite a wall heater and a separate bath & shower. Garden view accommodation is in a spacious, traditional thatch rondawel with a queen bed, couch and a log fireplace. Tea and coffee making facilities. En suite bathroom with bath and separate shower ( and wall heater). The main guesthouse has a guest lounge with log fireplace and stunning views of the mountains, a dining room, T.V. room and a cosy pub with DSTV. |

| Activities at Ardmore - No driving Required * Visit the “Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio” in the old stables building (wholesale prices) 50 artists. * “African Loom Weaving”, handwoven bags & cushions from home-dyed cotton.(wholesale prices) * “Amangwe Crafts and Beadwork”- a community project selling locally produced crafts for 40 artists. * Bass Fishing & Bird watching at our large farm dam, across the road, 400m from the Guest House. * Jungle gym, trampoline,slide and swings for the kids. Also Table tennis,badminton and volleyball net. * Swimming pool – great for a refreshing dip, with lovely views of Champagne Castle mountain. * A 45 min stroll up to the hill above the main forest on the farm, view of the whole Champagne Valley. * Good mountain biking terrain, free use of our very basic mountain bikes, if serious, bring your own. * Tea garden - Light lunches, tea and scones and apple pie available. * Have a drink in the bar, play a game of darts or watch some satelite TV in the pub. * A steep 90min hike to the trig beacon on “Ardmore Hill”, 230m above the guest house, a stunning view. |
