Welcome to Roosje van de Kaap!
At the top of Swellendam`s main road, Voortrekker Street, you see the crown jewel of the towns` legendary, beautiful buildings: a breathtaking, perfectly maintained Georgian home.
As you continue you enter the core of the most historic of the Western Cape towns: The Drostdy Complex, once the seat of an independent republic. Behind the Drostdy Nick and Ilzebet Oosthuizen own and run a small hotel with the magical name of Roosje van de Kaap.
The main building of Roosje van de Kaap was once a part of the historic Drostdy. Here Nick and Ilzebet created a beautiful inn and an award winning restaurant.
The terrace of the main building looks out onto the Drostdy estate where a flock of sheep, a living exhibit with an ancestry older than 3000 years, graze under the oak trees. Three rooms are situated around a sparkling pool, which offers guests a cool relief from the reliable Swellendam sun. The poolcourt flows to the garden and the four garden rooms.
